Comedian & Writer

ABOUT LEON

Leon Scott is a writer and comedian based in Washington, DC. His comedic journey began where most dreams perish: While working at a dead-end job.

One evening after a long day of picking digital cotton on someone’s corporate plantation, Leon created a humor blog called “Listen to Leon” that won awards and gained a following. This led to opportunities to write for other sites, which opened a door to stand up comedy, and eventually a career writing for television.

For 6 years, Leon Scott wrote for WUSA9 on Open Mic with Reese Waters and Get Up DC, the latter of which earned him an Emmy nomination.

Leon was selected as one of the inaugural participants in the Warner Bros Discovery Access Comedic Voices late night writers program.

Every third Saturday of the month, he hosts a showcase, “Comedy Night at Highline RxR.”

Leon has recorded two specials on streaming services, “District of Comedy” and “American Comic” on Amazon Prime.

"I worked with Leon Scott as the Executive Producer of Open Mic. Leon's ideas helped shape a successful, creative vision for the show. Leon is very collaborative, offering his unique and funny takes on everyday situations. Leon was asked to turn out daily monologues under an extremely tight deadline. He delivered consistently funny, relatable content day after day. Leon manages his talent with a big dose of humility, willingness to accept feedback and honest desire to make those around him shine. He's a delight to work with."
